I'm pretty confident that it'll be out in the next nine months, but not in the next three like it seemed might be the case a week or two ago.stip wrote:there is plenty of evidence that the album is done and will be coming in the not too distant future.

I called late November a while back. I'm sticking with that.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
That seems to be most realistic expectation. November seems likely. I suppose October is possible, but I think September is too soon at this point. If it's not out in November I could see it not being out until February.durdencommatyler wrote:I called late November a while back. I'm sticking with that.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
It'll come out when it comes out. I've seen nothing so far that excites or disappoints me about this thing. My excitement level is the same today as it was three months ago, as it was three years ago, as it was a few days after Backspacer came out.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
If Mind Your Manners is real, and being released next month, that would bode well for the album being coming sooner rather than later. It could be an ed track for the movie, but the movie's coming out in november so it'd be a little soon. An ed solo album seems unlikely considering they've got a (presumably) finished pj album lyring around.

Not a soundtrack and not a Ukulele album. I like both of those albums, but I would really like to see Ed do a full-fledged solo album.durdencommatyler wrote:What do you consider proper?tommymctom wrote:I, for one, would rather have a proper Ed solo album than a new Pearl Jam album.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
I'd probably explode if Jack and Ed did an entire album together, again. Put that at the very top of my "All Things Pearl Jam" wishlist.EJ wrote:with Flea and Jack Irons, please.tommymctom wrote:Not a soundtrack and not a Ukulele album. It's not even about the content so much. More stuff like Into the wild would be ideal, really. Just more fleshed out.durdencommatyler wrote:So just a more traditional rock album?tommymctom wrote:Not a soundtrack and not a Ukulele album. I just kinda feel like Pearl Jam is holding each of the members of Pearl Jam back at the moment.

I guess I just don't understand what keeps Into the Wild and Ukulele Songs from being proper albums. I'm just trying to pin down exactly what you mean.tommymctom wrote:It's not even about the content so much. More stuff like Into the wild would be ideal, really. Into the Wild, I sort of understand, given that it's music written for and inspired by a film. The songs are shorter by necessity, but I wouldn't say they aren't fully realized songs.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
I guess Ukulele songs just seems a bit like a novelty album to me. On Into the Wild, it's basically what you said - there's a great EP in there, but not a full album.durdencommatyler wrote:I guess I just don't understand what keeps Into the Wild and Ukulele Songs from being proper albums. As I said, I like both of them, but I'd be interested to see what Vedder would put out without the constraint of writing for a movie soundtrack/writing everything on a Uke.
