Pearl Jam opinions that don't faze you either way

Post by Kevin Davis »

Not things you agree with or disagree with strongly, necessarily, but Pearl Jam opinions that you see sometimes and just think, "Huh. Okay."

For me, it's people talking about the transition from "Sometimes" into "Hail Hail." People have really strong feelings about this -- like some people think it's "dynamic," while others (Stip, principally) find it "jarring." To me, it's just like, one song ending and another song starting, y'know?

Also, the "Life Wasted" fadeout. It's like, who gives a fuck, right?

the "Heil Hitler" reference in the middle of Future Days.... just doesn't really faze me... the guy is dead, if that's how he wants to feel then fine. just wasting time. he's not alive anymore, can't come to power if he is not alive. no need to get bent out of shape about it.

most around here get all worked up about Boom's past (vehicular manslaughter, ritual killings, 9/11, etc) but sorry I just can't get that worked up about a touring keyboardist.

this has been a good year for me. there has been enough chaos in my life that pearl jam opinions usually don't faze me one way or the other anymore.

Anything they politically stand for these days. It's just exhausting.

Yeah, the only fade out I can think of that I have an opinion about one way or the other is Wishlist. And I LOVE it. But that's because it feels like a real choice and it enhances the themes of the song. The fade is actually a part of the composition.

Same. I haven't really paid attention to this aspect of the band in a while.

Yes and how you can just barely make out the last line Ed sings. Perfecto.
