I played Deus Ex on my laptop last year, but I will add those other two! Thanks for those other suggestions, everyone else.

I'm kind of wondering if Microsoft has a long term plan or a strategy. It's great for gamers that they're dropping all of these restrictions, but I wonder if it chipping away at their reputation to be so wishy washy.

well, an idea i've heard that sounds pretty reasonable is that microsoft is aiming as much at apple and google as at sony, even with the xbox one. i don't see this specific move hurting their reputation though--if anything, it might help it, by not making them look stubborn and stupid. in the end, the xbox one is in large part a game console. more broadly it's an entertainment station, but i don't get the impression anyone's looking at it as a full blown computer, and sony is still the main competition in this realm.

Sony and Microsoft have different philosophies no doubt. People do not drop $500 for a box that has Netflix and HBO Go though. They buy it to play games primarily. Their actions in the last few years (emphasis on casual market, Kinect, lack of first party games, used game/DRM debacle) are starting to irritate those games that buy these systems in the early years on the market. I don't think they've lost gamers or anything but they're not doing themselves any favors. Reversing their decision about DRM makes me think they do not have a pulse on gamers. They could still easily "win" this generation and release some absolutely great games, but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit the next 6-8 years to a company that doesn't seem to have a long term plan.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or Fallout 3? I've played through Bioshock for the first time (lots of fun, liked the story, certainly lived up to the hype), but I'd love to start a RPG that will be a longer-form experience. I can get these 2 pretty cheap; thoughts?

I haven't played Oblivion but Fallout 3 is insane. Skyrim is also tons of fun, immersive and has a lot of play through value.

What are some good ipad game? I just have an ipad 1 so I'm kind of limited with what is supported on that device now. I'd like something I can play with a friend online. Something like Good and Evil would be cool.

Anyone know any good Youtube channels for game reviews? I watch a lot of IGN reviews, but they seem to love almost everything.
