Regardless of how it ends up stacking against their previous work & the hyperbole surrounding it right now, the fact that they made an album this good 25 years in to their career as a band with all the same members is kinda unprecedented, right?

Woke up around 3 in the AM to empty my bladder and i crawled back into bed and put my headphones and listened while falling back asleep. Man alive, some great sounds going on here. i could bring my attention to the upper right audio plane and listen for hours at some minor flourish that is happening before moving my attention to somewhere else.

After 20-odd spins this week:

Champagne Radiohead: Burn The Witch, Ful Stop, Daydreaming, Decks Dark, Present Tense (these last 3 are just gorgeous)

Good to Great: Desert Island Disk, Glass Eyes, Identikit (I loved the live version from 2012, still getting used to this), True Love Waits

Not doing it for me as much as the others (yet?): The Numbers (reminds me of latter-day U2), Tinker Tailor whatever

Burn The Witch, Deck's Dark, Desert Island, and Identikit have grown on me tremendously. Still trying to absorb the entirety. The Numbers is still my fav though, Burn The Witch not far behind. It took a good 7 days to digest, but this fucker is starting to grow on me big time. Definitely an album you have to be in the mood for, though

i think identikit is the best song i've ever heard
