Interesting hearing 'that was an old song, this is a new song' to transition from Nothingman to DTE. Really shows how far back this was.

Don't like Eddie's growly DTE vocals.

Like the controlled tempo.

Some sloppy playing from Stone on his ONE PART GAH!

Matt's pretty good here.

"I am the first man to wet my pants" WTF DOES THAT MEAN. I hate when Eddie says stuff like that, its so stupid.

I guess it makes sense for Eddie to growl on this song, Im still not a huge fan of it. Interesting guitar on the ending, never heard that before. Pretty cool.

I love Better Man live. One of the best for sure, with that little boost of extra energy.

Great fill from Matt into 'SHE LOVED HIM'

Ive heard a version from like 94 or so and Eddie was O_________________________O amazing, he's still good here though. He's just missing some of that power. Still good.

I actually found myself missing the extended end though

Black is my favorite PJ song. But not a great one live. Its too atmospheric.

Here we are pretty close. Whoever is doing the little guitar noodling (Mike?) is doing great. Stone's guitar is too distorted though, chill on the distortion man....he's stepping all over it, but it's much better than they do now.

Eddie sounds very good.

Mike always does well on the end

I think so far Red Mosquito and surprisingly Given to Fly was the highlight.

Overall this is a very good album, I just like to pick at things.

Fuckin Up is definitely one of my favorite PJ covers. I wish they'd do it a lot more I love it. The original song is awesome too. Who knew Neil Young was such a badass? The music video cracks me up.

God I love the way Eddie sings this song. "WHY DO IIII KEEP FUCKIN UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP"

This song is so perfect for Pearl Jam.

Matt sounding good too.

THIS SONG IS SO GOOD

I actually like when Eddie growls on this song. WHY DOES HE KEEP FUCKIN UP?!

Well I like the live in concert versions sometimes better than the studio because it gets some extra energy and its perfect for the extended end they do.

That was fun. Good stuff. I dont think 1998 is my favorite era PJ though just from the sound of this. I dont know what is. I want a clearer more powerful Eddie. And less Matt. but it was fun. Good stuff.

Im used to hearing his earlier stuff. I know from a History of Rock class in college that he ended up basically inventing Grunge, but Im still used to his old borderline country stuff

No. I mean the "studio" version is actually a live version of the song. From a concert.

It is. It's the version from 4/3/94. Add organ, remove drums and bass for first verse and chorus and there you go.

Someone did an amalgamation of the two back when the Vitalogy Deluxe Edition came out and stated that's exactly what it was. Lined up PERFECTLY. Sounded amazing. Wish I had kept it.
