Could be. It's one of those turntable/CD player/cassette deck in one things from Target or what not that my mother-in-law bought me a few years ago. I have no idea how to adjust anything on it.

You can play lossless files on an iPod or most phones too, I've been doing it for years.

Yeah you can't adjust anything on those things. The counterweight on another turntable will help keep the tone arm down without bouncing

assuming said albums will be in stores eventually? they're typically a little cheaper, and without the shipping
