Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

So, it seems Bran has a sudden fascination with the fact that Hodor used to be able to speak and that something caused him to later become simple-minded. I always figured he got kicked in the head by a horse or something, but I've seen other people floating ideas that he witnessed something that traumatized him. Episode 5 is titled "The Door"--which has a similar sound to "Hodor," and which the words might have gotten portmanteaud into after being repeated a million times. Perhaps he's got some supernatural knowledge (or, at least, an experience with the supernatural) that we haven't been privy to yet?

Good call. I'm not sure how Bran and Meera are going to escape, without Hodor or Summer to help them. Unless Uncle Benjen is hiding around the corner, they're in trouble.

I've always been interested in questions surrounding what is the one true faith of this world (Lord of Light, The Seven, Drowned God, Old Gods, etc.) as well as what the ultimate real source of magic is and whether there are different types of magic. With the revelation that the Children and the Others share a common thread, things are starting to heat up in this department for me.
