Not sure how this revelation really affects anything. I guess it confirms that White Walkers are programmed to kill.

I think he's the first Other, who may or may not be the Nights King. The show Night's King and the book Night's King seem to be two different entities.

I took it as they used that guy to be the first of the White Walkers, who became the Night King. It was a quick scene that could have been a lot longer.

Yea, that was my impression also, but I think the others are right that we're filling in holes without any solid evidence just yet.
