Then it might be a good film. I loved the cast of this and how JJ got everyone excited. Well. Almost. But it's pushing shit uphill now. I'll see it but don't care right now.

I'm pretty excited about it. I adore these movies. And I think this has a ton of real potential. I love that they're finally doing what appears to be an original story in the rebooted world. And I fucking love Idris Elba. Yeah, I just can't wait.
I really hate the aesthetic of these movies. There was always a practicality to previous incarnations of Trek design. This just looks like impractical futurism.
Of course. Once a trailer hits big all the other big trailers mimic it for a while. It's still happening every now and then with the Inception BWWWAAAAMMMMM

I feel myself getting excited for this despite my reservations. I do really like the cast and it looks like McCoy is actually part of the story this time.
Yeah, I was always going to see this. But that first trailer left me a tad underwhelmed. This trailer and the one before it were both much more interesting to me. I'm pretty effing excited.

There was a TV spot that I caught today that really pushed Kirk/Spock/McCoy thing and it felt pretty good.
I've heard people (both Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike) say it feels more like the old series. One guest on Collider said it felt more like an original series episode than the original series movies.
A lot lof talk about how small the film is compared to the others, how it's super character driven and thematic. Pretty excited, team.
Also, Paramount & Bad Robot announced that they're already planning/prepping part 4 and that it'll co-star Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk. This could be really fucking cool.
In the next installment of the epic space adventure, Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father. Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in 2009’s “STAR TREK,” will return to the space saga as George Kirk to star alongside Pine. The remaining cast is expected to return.
