so looking back over these posts, did i miss the discussion (other than a mention) about the children creating the white walkers? that's a pretty huge reveal, no?

One thing I'm fuzzy on: I took the creation scene to mean that the guy who got the obsidian stuck in his chest was their enemy, who then became the White King. But then I read a review this morning that said they created the White Walkers to protect them from other humans. So which is it?

can't it be both? from what i saw, all we know was that that guy was a human (maybe one of the first men). the humans came in, cut down a bunch of their trees, and threatened the children's existence. so they created the white walkers to counterbalance the humans.

do we know that the guy they showed actually became white king though?

The Night King? I think that flashback scene predates him.

there seem to be some people that think that that flashback scene involves the guy who became the night king. i don't think we know anything about him yet.

I think he's the first Other, who may or may not be the Nights King. The show Night's King and the book Night's King seem to be two different entities.

i think he's the same in both. he was the 13th lord commander previously, which means the wall was already in existence when he was around, and the wall was built to keep the white walkers north.

When the heck did they cover this in the series? How did I miss this?!?

i guess they haven't, so maybe i should've spoilered that.

I especially appreciate that the ep had a very LOST-like time-travelly twist in it, too. with the door

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

How did theon and Yara steal so many ships? If she had that many people loyal to her why didn't she win the kingsmoot?

i'm assuming it was just the ironborn nobility at the kingsmoot, and any one of those cats has a large fleet consisting of hundreds of sailors at their disposal. so i guess yara just had her men hijack the best ships, or maybe her fleet was already comprised of the best ships.

coldhands/benjen stark will make an appearance in 'Blood of my Blood' and if it is benjen it could go a long ways to confirming a theory a buddy of mine has. So if Targarayns have fire resistance and what not, what if the starks have a resistance to the others and their magic, abilities?

With Bran Stark and his visions/being able to go back in time and communicate ( i sense this is getting stronger ) Did he cause hodor's death? What happened first? I feel like this is a back to the future thing, or a "chicken or the egg" thing.

oh for sure. I was the under the impression that she was born with a very extreme version of their ability to tolerate heat/fire which complimented their ability to communicate, and befriend dragons.

This is single timeline time travel. So anything that Bran goes back and changes, we've already seen the effects of. This also implies that everything in this world is predestined, since past present and future exist simultaneously.
