mikejasond wrote:I dont care what you say. I like Matchbox 20. Some of their songs are very good. Mainly 3AM, Unwell, and Bright Lights.

And the lead singer of Matchbox 20 is the lead singer of Smooth by Santana, and are you going to claim that's not one of the best songs ever?
I will go ahead and claim that Smooth is absolutely not one of the best songs ever, yes. I will claim that all day, son.

But I do like that song for what it is.

Its sick, the music video is too. Santana is like the cool old guy who dgaf that nobody knows who he is, he's just like Im going to shred my frickin guitar and have a #1 pop single 30 years later.

Then the rhythm in the chorus is just so good. The overall vibe is awesome. Its just such a blast.

I really hate the comparisons everyone is making in this thread. Alanis (and especially Jagged Little Pill) doesn't belong with these other artists. You're surrounding her with artists that are nothing like her. It shows a disturbing amount of ignorance on the parts of posters I tend to respect.

It's troublesome.

Oh, it's fun as shit. And I'm having a blast with this thread, don't get me wrong. I just had to stop and think for a second and it occurred to me that if people are being serious (which I doubt) then we have a real problem.

I mean if you listen to rock music sure, but wasnt that song a #1 single? I doubt the majority of the people listening to that song knew. And I think its badass that he acts he doesnt even care. He's like the coolest dad in the room.

Yes, PEOPLE know. But not the majority of people who listen to the Top 10 hits on pop radio or whatever.
