The episodes after that also featured meandering around the characters without knowing who they were.tragabigzanda wrote:One of the worst parts about S2 was how the shootout in E4 essentially hit the reset button on the whole plot. We had spent four episodes meandering around these characters without really knowing who they were and what the hell was going on, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath by that shootout.

I honestly don't know if i'd like this show more if it wasn't True Detective or if I am only still watching because it is.
I stand by this.

The news that David Milch is on board to work with Pizzolatto on a third season gives me some hope. S2 had style, but it was a shitshow and a shit show.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
Pretty clear S1 was a singular moment on T.V. that Pizzolatto will never come close to reproducing.
That being said, I love Mahershala, so I'll be watching just for him.
He's got an intriguing face that'll be perfect for Pizzolatto's usual 10-minute long stares into the camera.

If you like terrible acting and ham-fisted writing, go for it.
