So what would you do with Buccholz? News now is that he's going to the bullpen, but...why? I'd be fine with DFAing him or even an outright release. He's going to be 32 in August, and he doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to go through a mid-30s renaissance. We've got a club option for next year so, at the very least, I don't think they'll pick that up.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Buchholz is a better option than Owens or anyone else they have right now. I'm ok with keeping him around until the end of the season if someone goes down.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Buchholz is a better option than Owens or anyone else they have right now. I'm ok with keeping him around until the end of the season if someone goes down.

I see the value in that--if someone else in the rotation gets hurt (knocks on everything wooden in the room), he is the best option. But as Remy just said on the broadcast: where is he going to get innings? He can throw bullpen sessions to stay loose, but he's gonna be out of his rhythm very soon. He's also going to take up a roster spot. Going onto the DL with "shoulder soreness" probably would've been the best conservative move.

Yeah, if someone thinks Bradley is going to keep being this good and is willing to pay the equivalent price, you trade him in a heartbeat.

If someone things Betts or Bogaerts is going to keep being this good... they're probably right.

I was advocating selling high on Bradley in the offseason, his value has only increased since.

Maybe Bradley...you'd be insane to trade either of the other two...and even for Bradley I'd want only something really high end in return, with similar youth (and if that means we have to add in someone like Swihart, so be it)

The only other guy in the system I don't want to touch is Benintendi

Heard this stat from Sean McAdam this AM: During the road trip, the Sox averaged 7 1/2 runs in each defeat. Ridiculous.

They need at least one starter and one more bullpen arm...and honestly, they could really use two bullpen arms, because I'm not trusting Koji at all, even if we do get one more arm to replace Smith.

Never thought I'd say it, but I'd be ok with them trading for Shields at this point...as long as they can unload a bad contract and don't have to include any real prospect of value.

Why would SD trade him if you were unloading a bad contract on them and not giving them a prospect of value? They aren't getting salary relief or a roster improvement.
