I got shut out, but then I managed to get a pair for Ottawa from a friend of a friend. Terrible seats, but close to face value... and I really just want to be there.

Yeah, it's fantastic. I'm just lukewarm on Hot Mic/ maybe don't like it.
Also, while I really like Man & Machine I think both of those songs have some issues.

Ocean Next is the only one that I don't like all that much so far. Hot Mic took a bit of time, but I'm liking more.Dev wrote:Yeah, it's fantastic. I'm just lukewarm on Hot Mic/ maybe don't like it.

I think I've had one of What Blue, Here in the Dark and Tired as Fuck stuck in my head every day for the last week.

How did you feel about In Between Evolution, World Container, We Are The Same, and Now For Plan A, Phil?

In Between Evolution - I like it a lot, but it might be my least favourite of theirs. I don't think there are any real weak points, but there's also not much that makes me want to listen to it specifically.Dev wrote:How did you feel about In Between Evolution, World Container, We Are The Same, and Now For Plan A, Phil?
World Container - Loved it at first and it has aged well for me.
We Are the Same - I've always found it a bit uneven... kind of the opposite of In Between Evolution. A handful of songs are absolute favourites (Morning Moon, Coffee Girl, The Depression Suite...) but a few are forgettable and have never really done anything for me (Frozen in My Tracks, Speed River, The Exact Feeling). It's weird because, while I like it a lot overall, almost all of their albums I could put on repeat and listen to over and over again, but there are a few songs I would want to skip here.
Now For Plan A - Love it. It's a lot like We Are the Same but I don't find it has as many low points.

I really hope they dig into more obscure songs rather than do the whole greatest hits thing they have been doing since World Container.

Re: The Tragically Hip
The last 3 shows I have seen have pretty much been the same. I hate to say it, and it goes contrary to popular belief, but I have not had a great time with The Hip Live. I guess I missed their heyday.

Re: The Tragically Hip
They just put out a new album so chances are that's what you'll get along with the greatest hits.
