Re: Song of the Moment: Tremor Christ
back in, oh say, mid 90's when i was on the bootleg hunt i would get this catalog in the mail from a place in Texas. They would list some bootlegs they had and sometimes they had some PJ ones. I'd always call into the store to check if they got anything in and if so what the tracklist was. The guy was so sweet to me. He would read the setlist off from the CD and any time he'd say tremor christ, in that texan twang, I would smile ear to ear.

Re: Song of the Moment: Tremor Christ
Interesting takes on this one. I've always thought is was thematically more... traditional? universal? The proper word is escaping me at the moment, but here goes:
He's done something to break his own heart and abandons the relationship
He's resigned that it wasn't 'meant to be' and was not his fault
Will he rethink it before it's too late?
Hoping it gets better, to try to believe that love is a real thing and can last
and to not be consume by fear (that's what makes life worthwhile)
knowing everyone has faced this point, to take the chance or run
Betting it all on her
A couple has had a very serious fight and broken up.Winded is the sailor, he's drifted by the storm.
Wounded is the organ he left all bloodied on the shore.
He's done something to break his own heart and abandons the relationship
He loves her, but his actions have destroyed her emotionallyGorgeous was his savior, sees her drowning in his wake.
Daily tastes the salt of her tears, but a chance blamed fate.
He's resigned that it wasn't 'meant to be' and was not his fault
His self doubts and fears in relationships overpower him again and againLittle secrets, tremors, turn to quake.
Smallest oceans still get big, big waves.
He is on the edge of giving up. Contemplating suicide to make the pain stop.Ransom paid the Devil. He whispers pleasing words.
Triumphant are the angels if they can get there first.
Will he rethink it before it's too late?
(same)Little secrets, tremors, turn to quake.
Smallest oceans still get big, big waves.
The angels win out. He's going to give it another try.I'll decide, take the dive.
Take my time, not my life.
Wait for signs, believe in lies
To get by - it's divine.
Oh, you know what it's like.
Hoping it gets better, to try to believe that love is a real thing and can last
and to not be consume by fear (that's what makes life worthwhile)
knowing everyone has faced this point, to take the chance or run
He heads home, steadfast in his decisionTurns the bow back, tows, and drops the line.
Puts his faith and love in Tremor Christ.
Betting it all on her

i think of this song about once a day
whenever i set the buttons on my dishwasher the pattern is this beep-beep-beep-beep that reminds me of the first four strums of the guitar on the song

Every time I hear the whir of a hybrid vehicle passing on the streets, I think I am about to hear the very beginning intro of Bohemian Rhapsody, so I can relate.
