I know I'm late this morning. I'll get this up within the next two hours, I hope. Given the holiday we'll leave the next round open until Monday night/Tuesday morning

I watch like 3-5 episodes every day, man.
That's incredible.

I do that with other shows, but I can't imagine doing that with The Simpsons, for some reason.

I really do wish I could help. But I have no idea what most of these episodes are. I suppose I could just vote along with the person I like the most in each thread.

I really really hate this kind of tournament. I just have 0 motivation to vote.

It's more about what it's like compared to the alternative. Right now I have no motivation to go trawling through dozens of threads to cast votes in a competition where there are no personal stakes. I much prefer draft-style tournaments where the draft is half the fun, and there is an actual winner-- like one of us wins because they assembled the strongest team-- instead of crowning some insentient, inert thing. I don't even know which song "won" the REM tourney.

I realize the other type of tournament is a lot more work, but it is infinitely more engaging to me. Just think, right now Chud could be quietly freaking out over someone picking Two Bad Neighbors before he does and there's still 5 more people to go before he's up again and jesus fucking christ won't Kaius hurry up it's been over 5 hours and--

No. Instead we're just blankly clicking through a bunch of threads going "huh. hmm. I guess I like this one better. No, actually... yeah. I like that one better."

Also, Two Bad Neighbors is a fantastic episode but what's up with you consistently assuming it's my favorite?

I couldn't disagree with you more. I vastly prefer the passive enjoyment of this type of tournament, and I think it generates more interesting discussion. The other kind is too stressful for my taste, for many of the same reasons you like it. Also, they always seem utterly pointless in the end. Through tournaments like this, I (am often surprised to) learn which episodes/songs/whatever others like and why, and a consensus favorite is named, whereas in the other kind we wind up with a pointless victor that no one cares about.

I don't feel as strongly towards either type as either one of you, but LV has a point. The traditional competition style tournament definitely has a tendency to fizzle out before it ends.
