You totally freaked out over that.
I sure did. I believed the narrative. Like an idiot.

Are you talking about the poetry, or Star Wars in general?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

apparently there was a script writer brought in to work on this script a while ago (but after it started shooting). so this sounds like it may have been troubled for a bit. I wonder if that's why we've gotten so little marketing for it

Apparently han solo is brought back to life in Rogue One so he can appear through a warped timeline storyline of Episode 8

And apparently there is a montage devoted to explaining the circumstances that leads to the Sarlacc proofing of Mandolorian armor.

That sucks.
Well, they said exactly the same thing about Suicide Squad, and David Ayer later called it out as bullshit. But, then again, Disney is Satan incarnate, so I wouldn't be shocked.

I will say that if it is true (of which I'm skeptical), then Disney execs are liars, idiots, cowards, or all three, since:

A) Edwards has said from day one this was going to be a grim, dark war movie that was far removed from other SW, and also said he was encouraged by execs to go there.

B) None of Edwards's other movies are at all "light" in tone.

So I know a guy on the inside....

Here's what he's said. Now, he's not involved with this film in any way. But he's in the industry and has many many friends who are working on this (and other SW films). He's just passing on what his friend told him.
Okay, I heard from someone today and this thing is being totally blown out of proportion.

Pickup shots were already scheduled but Disney's biggest issue (not LucasFilm but Disney) was that there's currently not enough Vader.

I think everyone wants to see Vader get as much screen time as possible so this isn't a bad thing but from Disney's perspective, it's all about merch and toys.

The Vader of R1 looks like Rebels and ANH, making it somewhat unique on the market.

Take it FWIW.
His sources aren't always as truthful as they wish they could be and sometimes they are flat out wrong. But this does seem a bit encouraging and speaks to what LV said above. Most importantly, it make Page 6 and festering asshole again, which restores true hope and balance to my universe.

Reshoots to rework a blockbuster's tone are common, and this is probably getting sensationalized because it's a Star Wars movie so it's being watched much more closely by the press than other blockbusters.

I want a really somber, old school, Italian-style silent film about the hardships of being a Jawa. I want to see a downtrodden Jawa come home from a long 18 hour day of backbreaking labor, sit alone at his small, slightly rusted, table and drink 5 fingers of bad whiskey and cry as he masturbates to Gungan porn.

Why do you think that sentiment is so bothersome to you coming from Star Wars fans but not Star Trek fans?
