This isn't really a "mass shooting" as the term is usually used (where someone tries to take out as many people as possible, usually random individuals in a specific location). This is a quintuple murder, absolutely horrific, but it doesn't really fall in line with what people usually mean with that term.

I would think it being a domestic incident puts it in a different category than this.

But I think when you're talking about the importance of gun control, the domestic incident is an even better example of why we need gun control. It seems like a far simpler situation, and a tragedy that could have been avoided or at least minimized by taking the gun out of the picture. It makes perfect sense to me to call that a mass shooting.

I'm very thankful to live in a country where gun ownership is heavily restricted but I think anyone framing this issue as being primarily about gun control is engaging in some seriously deep delusion.
