Yeah I'm thinking that was the goal of sending out those kids - to find out where the rest of the surplus was located from the mad king. Tyrion located one cache but supposedly there are numerous other storage spots.spike wrote:caches would be leftover from the mad king's plot to "burn them all"tragabigzanda wrote:Tyrion had someone make a bunch of wildfire. and it's just the next terrible decision by cersei, as it'll no doubt kill people she cares about. considering the riverrun siege is over and characters can move as quickly across the realm as they please, i wonder if jaime will be around in time for the trial at the sept.jwfocker wrote:Yeah I'm thinking that was the goal of sending out those kids - to find out where the rest of the surplus was located from the mad king. If Tommen dies who next in line? Or does everyone give up on the idea of a king and break up in time for the dragons to come?

no successor. in stable times, the heads of the great houses would get together and sort it out, but things are currently chaotic, so it'd probably be the lannisters (cersei) and tyrells (margaery) butting heads for the throne.BurtReynolds wrote:If Tommen dies who next in line? He also said something about her turning cities to ash to protect her children. I thought it was pretty blatant foreshadowing.tragabigzanda wrote:Yea, I'd buy this. His speech to Edmure last night about his love for Cersei seemed like a pretty obvious foreshadowing of his eventual downfall. This would be a great move for him to make in the book, as a sort of completion to his redemption arc. It's a shame they've thrown that away in the show.spike wrote:maybe he realizes he has to stab his sword through her back as well to save livesjwfocker wrote:spike wrote:and it's just the next terrible decision by cersei, as it'll no doubt kill people she cares about. considering the riverrun siege is over and characters can move as quickly across the realm as they please, i wonder if jaime will be around in time for the trial at the sept.jwfocker wrote:Yeah I'm thinking that was the goal of sending out those kids - to find out where the rest of the surplus was located from the mad king. i read that article too, and i don't think they've abandoned it yet in the show. his speech to edmure could just be an attempt to raise the drama of his eventual realization that cersei is no good. along with his scene with cersei earlier in the season, when he implies that he doesn't really care about his kids, just her.cutuphalfdead wrote:This would be a great move for him to make in the book, as a sort of completion to his redemption arc. jaime rolls into the sept, sees what's about to happen to his last living child, and makes the impossible yet honorable decision to save tommen (who's relatively innocent) by killing cersei (who he loves, but realizes in that moment is pure evil). jaime is redeemed and his thinking is no longer clouded by her.
and then the mountain rips his head off, but hey, maybe he has a shot at going to the seventh heaven now.
