And the fact that Ichiro is only 21 hits away from 3,000 MLB hits is what I wish everyone was talking about considering how old he was when he started playing here.
Man I loved watching that guy run out a little dinker down the third base line.

Yeah, I probably should have clarified that the Olerud thing only applied to the Mets and Mariners.

I was watching the Orioles / Blue Jays today, and it took about 4 pitches before I realized it was the Orioles in the field, so stupid. It looked like they had on Blue Jays home uniforms.spike wrote:so now there's special father's day uniforms? ugh.

Yeah, that was really, really stupid. Wear a special patch or ribbon or let the players where the blue arm bands or use blue bats or whatever, but everyone wearing all-blue uniforms? No thanks.MadTIGERmaN wrote:I was watching the Orioles / Blue Jays today, and it took about 4 pitches before I realized it was the Orioles in the field, so stupid. Mostly agree - depends how much blue is already in your regular uni. Looked fine on the M's but really really bad on the Red Sox.philpritchard wrote:Yeah, that was really, really stupid. My wife's boss (who is a well respected man) is a Cards fan and he posts a picture of flag with an "L" on it every time the Cubs lose. Cards fans are the worst.

Every rival team's fans are the worst. Why would you expect any differently? Every fanbase has good fans and bad fans. You should know that, being a Cubs fan.Monkey_Driven wrote:My wife's boss (who is a well respected man) is a Cards fan and he posts a picture of flag with an "L" on it every time the Cubs lose. I'm not a Cubs fan. My problem with Cards fans is that many call and consider themselves the best fans in baseball.matt reeder wrote:Every rival team's fans are the worst. You do realize that for like 80% or more of Cards fans this is either an ongoing joke, or trolling? Like, I know a lot of Cards fans and I don't know anybody who actually believes that crap. I don't. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Cards fans are loyal as shit but it doesn't make them the best; it just means they don't have much of a life. Given the region, this isn't surprising.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm not a Cubs fan. Speaking of Cubs fans: the 20-30% of fans who live and die with the team are some of the best sports fans, period. I have a ton of respect for diehard Cubs fans, and I know a few. Great, great people to watch a game with. But at least 50% of the Cubs fans I've known over the course of my life are just awful, awful sports fans who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I realize that such a description could apply to a lot of fanbases in every sport, but man, bad Cub fans are obnoxious on a level that is borderline pathological.

I don't know about Cards fans not believing in that stuff, I know several that do. They're loyal fans for sure, but still incredibly annoying to be around all the time.matt reeder wrote:You do realize that for like 80% or more of Cards fans this is either an ongoing joke, or trolling?
