Have you seen this? I think you'd get a kick out of it
I had not seen it.
And I did get a kick out of it. It was informative.
The only reason I think it'll actually turn out to be Lex Luthor is because it seems the natural move, to go from an extra-planetary villain to an earth-born villain. Would also help further exploit the mood of distrust between Superman and the denizens of the earth.
And yes, if Metropolis was so utterly wrecked after a simple run-in with Zod, Doomsday would be a mind-numbing experience. Expect a Lord of the Rings-length director's cut with six additional hours of punching.
overall i thought this was ok, but nowhere near avengers or any of the dark knights.... the fight scenes were cool, but sometimes it was like lets make a lot of shit blowing up for the sake of shit blowing up.. i wasnt a fan of the way they portrayed lois or sent her to space.. i also wasnt a fan of how it made it obvious to half the world on the fact clark was superman, and then had him come in at the end like no one had a clue.... i thought zod was really badass, but i think his sidekick bitch was cooler.... everytime i saw elliot stabler i laughed.. i was like i hope zod rapes at some point so stabler could beat the shit outta him....
the worst is how zod flew hundreds of miles n hour thru skyscrapers and explosions gettin punched n shit n he was fine, but it took a simple neck snap n.. bam.. dead..
as for the next movies villain, i say probably luthor.. i did see lexcorp trucks at one point during the fight in metropolis.. possibly him as a bigwig type not trusting superman after blowing up half of metropolis in the fight.. and maybe throw out metallo in there, like lex paying him to kill supes during the movie and then lex creating the giant suit of armor in the end like he had on old school jla for the final battle (wait, did they even throw in any kryptonite references?? i know he got weak on zods ship)
id love to see brainiac, i was wishing they threw some kinda computer into his little ship he came to earth on.. i didnt see anytihin so this is kinda unlikely
Match: Zod vs. the Kryptonian Government
Result: Zod is defeated and arrested
Match: Zod vs. Russel Crowe
Result: Zod gets the shit beat out of him by a scientist, and only wins due to a very lazily written distraction
Match: Zod vs. Superman in space
Result: Zod's scheme goes tits up, for no reason (as far as I can tell) other than he refuses to pick a planet other than earth to colonize
Match: Zod vs. Superman on Earth (match #1)
Result: Zod's people need to carry him back into the personnel carrier. Clark is fine, but his mother is slightly winded.
Match: Zod vs. Superman on Earth part 1: the plan
Result: Nothing about this plan goes well at all
Match: Zod vs. Superman on Earth part 2: fisticuffs
Result: At no point is Superman in any real danger of losing this match
Was it just me or did anyone else think it was really awkward the way Superman just kinda walked over to Zod and put him in a headlock? seemed funny to me.
I thought this sucked fairly numerous ballsacks. This pretty much sums up my feel:

The dark and gritty tone is cool, but a little too much for my taste for this character.
Please... that scientist and the military scenes..my god, what a lousy script...even that scene with Perry and that girl trapped in the building...who cares about her! i only saw her two times, show me superman fighting, show me Martha Kent or Louis...too many useless characters around.
I felt the actions scenes were poorly handled, the dialogue was mostly rubbish, the main villain killed a lot of people and yet in the final scene our hero is wondering about maybe finishing him or not...and that ending?? everyone smiling?
Louis knows the secret already? thats it??
i wasnt expecting more of this movie, so i cant say its a letdown but give more intelligent ones like Iron Man 3.

Finally saw this today. Liked a lot....was disappointed by some things. I wont list everything I had a problem with but Superman really should have been all over the place saving people during the third act destruction sequences. At least have him try to move the fight somewhere safe and have Zod drag him back to cause max destruction. All the destruction does set up Luthor perfectly though. We'll see. I'd give it a B. Slight let down.
They announced a Batman/Superman movie for 2015, directed by Zack Snyder. So the sequel to this one will be this movie...and its based on some things from Return of the dark knight, from Frank Miller.

I have mixed feelings about this.
Euck.. get Zack Snyder away from this.

they are going with an older Wayne who comes out of retirement.
