Looks like it's that time of year to get to watch a few Sox games on TV. And I might be going to see them play @ SEA in a couple months.

Moncada seems like the better talent, but more importantly to me, Benintendi is much more expendable position wise.MattA75 wrote:I'd be more willing to give up Moncada than Benintendinumbers wrote:I'm pretty much willing to give up anything other than Moncada to get Gray or Fernandez at this point.

Assuming he does indeed end up in Portland soon, I'm gonna have to get up there to see both of them in person.numbers wrote:Moncada seems like the better talent, but more importantly to me, Benintendi is much more expendable position wise.MattA75 wrote:I'd be more willing to give up Moncada than Benintendinumbers wrote:I'm pretty much willing to give up anything other than Moncada to get Gray or Fernandez at this point.

Price has been just fine this month. What you meant to say was "hoping the Sox can score runs against a decent team while Price gives them another 8 inning quality start."MattA75 wrote:I think he's there for at least another month before they promote himSimple Torture wrote:Get up there soon before he's promoted to beautiful Pawtucket:

Seriously, his last two starts especially have been excellent.

This morning I seriously considered posting: "Remember what Uncle Chud says: Wins are a meaningless stat for a pitcher." Glad you jumped in, Pete.

Glad I got to watch the highly coveted Papi base steal on live TV.

Re: Boston Red Sox Thread
My problem with Price is less how he's pitched and more the timing of when he's gotten touched up...after the Sox tied the game today in the 6th, I fully expected him to fall behind again
and yes, his run support has sucked, they should have won today's game by a much healthier margin...still trying to figure out why Vazquez was allowed to hit those last two times

If you were in charge of the Red Sox, and you had the chance to trade one of those guys for Jose Fernandez, would you do it?cutuphalfdead wrote:Same, probably. But I don't want to give up either.

Awesome. I was thinking that the "anything other than..." meant you wouldn't, but very, very few prospect should be off-limits in acquiring a pitcher like Fernandez.numbers wrote:I absolutely would.

Without the pitching, this is all meaningless and a waste of time. Did anyone here Sam Kennedy on WEEI giving non-answers about the need for pitching? Ugh.

Especially when the Red Sox already have a very young core at the major league level.philpritchard wrote:Awesome. Re: Boston Red Sox Thread
Yeah, having Bogaerts, Betts and Bradley to build their offense around definitely makes trading someone like Moncada/Benintendi more palatable.numbers wrote:Especially when the Red Sox already have a very young core at the major league level.philpritchard wrote:Awesome.
