Generally I'm no fan of young singers - in my experience people need some life experience and abusive behaviours to get the sort of interesting afflictions and some emotional power in their delivery and craft.

This morning on the drive to work I heard the latest kid our national radio station have "discovered" as part of their ongoing "unearthed" project. Kat Edwards, 17 year old school girl from Tasmania and this is her new original tune "Stranger in My Room". It is quite amazing. Her influences are Ray Lamontagne, Angus & Julia Stone and Bon Iver.

Been wanting to try out The Rutabega, just finished listening to Brother the Light's Don't Work, didn't like it as much as I expected to.

That's one of my favorite albums of this decade and one of the best things I've discovered thanks to this forum

Its never set in stone, but everything from Libertine on, I ride for. They're a fascinating band with a really interesting history. A few years back someone made an excellent documentary that tells their story way better than I ever could muster.
