I hate when Star Wars threads move multiple pages ahead without me.

Screw you guys.

Nope. The first Clone Wars series came out between 2 and 3.

But for the rest of you awesome nerds out there. What are your true expectations for this? Do you think this movie has a real shot of surpassing the other Star Wars films for you? Are you trying not to think about all that and just see the movie without all that baggage?

Do you want this to be the best Star Wars film so far and what does it mean if it is?
this has been an interesting build up for me. my fandom is at a 20 plus year high and i have a ridiculous amount of goodwill towards the franchise. FA may be my favorite star wars film (though it is easy enough to imagine it being topped) yet i am decidely removed from any anticipation towards this film. with FA at this time i was watching trailers every day.

ill see it opening weekend and im sure ill love it, but im curiously unexcited

The EW feature is just in response to the reshoot nonsense and to reset the PR narrative.

I'm pissed we learned from a shotty magazine Vader is back. I wanted it in a trailer and that whoop of excitement like when we saw the falcon bust out on screen in the FA trailer. We've been robbed of that.

Marketing convention in Germany has been shown footage from rogue one. Reports are it's definitely not a typical Star Wars film. And not with kids in mind at all.

They've been reporting Vader's involvement for months. It was no big secret.

Truth be told I won't hate it. I'm with stip though. Still hasn't managed to Conjour up anything like the excitement FA build up did. That said the marketing campaign proper hasn't started at all yet. There'll be s trailer or footage shown at Star Wars celebration next month. It'll kick in then. Hopefully.

"I dunno. It still hasn't managed to feel as anticipatory or exciting as the uber-hyped return of a beloved franchise after years without new content did."

Dime, did you listen to the most recent Collider Jedi Council? It was tasty. They went through the EW article about R1 and mentioned that some Ep 8 footage was actually shown at the licensing convention thing. :luv:

On a serious note, has there been any confirmation that the new young Han Solo is going to have a cameo in this?
