I laughed really fucking hard when the king launched himself out of the window.

Really? That terrified me. It was the first truly shocking moment in the show for me as a book reader.

Hodor?

There was enough speculation prior to the episode to let the air out of that one. It was still totally effective and heartbreaking, sure. But it wasn't truly shocking because too many people predicted it ahead of time.

I didn't see a single thing predicting and discussing Tommen's suicide. It was shocking to me.

I consider myself a regular on the Reddit threads and I had no idea about the Hodor reveal. That death completely took me by surprise.

Maybe I missed it but I don't recall anyone predicting the "hold the door" bit. That was the heartbreaking/traumatizing part. People were predicting the Bran warging/talking to him in the past to cause his disability, but that was obviously going to happen.
