Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

So, I just started Season 4 yesterday. This show is so fucking brilliant.

That was last season, right? I felt it took a big step up then, and has continued through this season.

I felt like it opened up considerably once she and Gary had that blowout in S4. It was pretty rough -- not funny at all, and really sort of painful. And then the spongecake thing at the end was hysterical. And as they've continued to explore deeper parts of these characters throughout S5, it's set the stage for some really biting comedy.

Also, my absolute favorite part of the S5 finale was Mike walking around with a 6-year old Asian kid strapped to his chest.

Season 3 and on are gold. Granted, I haven't watched season one or two in years.
