Well, obviously, I adore her. And I would recommend diving in immediately. But she's not for everyone. So... no pressure. If you ever get the desire to give her a spin, I think her strongest album is Strange Mercy.

Yeah, but I think the most recent record is the most accessible and may be the best for a first spin.

I think it depends on what kind of music you like. I listened to the first couple of tracks from St. Vincent before I was a fan and they didn't do much for me. Whereas, Cruel (from Strange Mercy) knocked me out on first listen.

Really, it wasn't until I saw Bring Me Your Loves live on Letterman that I totally lost my shit, though. So maybe you're right.

Its odd, Marry Me was easily the most accessible one for me.

I think I'll just go in order since she doesn't have a lot.

Each album does kind of build on the previous one, too. So that'll be nice. Each of her records has something that'll knock your socks right off.

Can we agree that this is one of the best songs she's ever done? Thanks.

This morning on the drive to work I heard the latest kid our national radio station have "discovered" as part of their ongoing "unearthed" project. Kat Edwards, 17 year old school girl from Tasmania and this is her new original tune "Stranger in My Room". It is quite amazing. Her influences are Ray Lamontagne, Angus & Julia Stone and Bon Iver.

Check it out (takes a few seconds to start up):

Why the fuck did I quote myself and post the song above in this thread??

It was 1:24am my time when I did it, so I'm guessing that was an unintentional, drunk fuck up on my part. But I have zero recollection of making that post, and no idea why...

I'm a riddle wrapped in an enigma.

Whats she doing? She should be working in the studio not playing live.

Has she mentioned anything about working on new music? I'm dying for something new!

About the only thing Pearl Jam has done in the last 9 years that I was completely happy with was introducing me to her music when I saw her play RITFW with them.

She debuted a new song at the end of June. You can watch a cellphone cam version of that on the previous page. So, she's definitely working. No news that I'm aware of though as far as a record or ep or official release of new material.

I'll check that out! Thanks!
I'll be happy with whatever she does but I would looooove her to pursue the sound of the newer live version of Your Lips Are Red.

Yeah, I'd love for her do something heavy and dark and weird. YLAR meets Bring Me Your Loves with a little Krokodil mixed in for good measure. :bammer:

That's right in my wheelhouse. But really anything she does is right in my wheelhouse. So...
