I hope they don't help them like that. Celts still have plenty of cap space and picks.
I wouldn't look at it as helping the Warriors. Moving Horford to the 4 and paring hm with a shot blocker on a "now" cheap contract for some garbage picks would be a steal.
I see your logic but I'm thinking Bogut will come back even more diminished. I just don't want other teams to help the Warriors round this thing out so easily although Jerry West and the staff there will probably make it happen.

Lol.
it's a total beta move by KD. it appears he's happy to be second fiddle.
Why is that a bad thing exactly?
Because sports are competitive and you would expect the best players in the game to be competitive too? I wonder if there is wording in his contract about lopping his dick off and handing it over to steph to chew on in between free throws?
And the point of competition is winning. Putting yourself in the best position to do that at the expense of individual glory is generally the type thing that's applauded, not derided.
Unless LeBron does it.
The largest issue with LeBron was presentation
People say that now, and the presentation was awful and everybody hated that also, but there was A LOT of "LeBron can't win on his own", "superfriends" stuff and people discounting his 2 rings here basically until he just won in Cleveland.

And I can't stand the Warriors and they just added a top 2-3 player to a team that won 73 games. Also, I'm a LeBron fan and I think his chances of getting a 4th ring just took a major hit.
I'm also confused by it from KD's perspective. He'll probably win some rings this way, but I don't think they'll have the same impact of level of achievement as they would have if he was on a team where he was the clear difference maker. He gave that up.
Again, he's a FA and can do what he wants. I'm not bemoaning his ability to do that, and yeah he's putting winning above individual stuff, so that's fine, too. But for somebody who claims he wants to be the best ever I don't think this is the way to do that. And I think next season is a lot less interesting now. And he's not going to get killed to anywhere near the level LeBron did (which is one of those odd things that is good because the LeBron hate was so absurd so it's good people are learning, but selfishly it doesn't feel fair especially when this is much more a frontrunning play than LeBron's was).
Idk if that makes me butthurt or whatever, but I'm disappointed. I would have happily rooted for him to win in OKC but he joined a team I don't like so I'll root against him.
i agree with all this; it's the same set of feelings a lot of us felt when lebron took his talents to south beach. i think this feels worse because miami wasn't coming off a record breaking season, so this seems like an even "easier" path that KD is taking. it feels even more like a shortcut to glory.
so this sets up the same redemption path for KD that lebron is on. KD will win some rings, then have the same epiphany that he wants to "do it himself" back in OKC or DC or something in a few years.

classic internet argument. the issue isn't black and white, skitch.

exactly.
This is probably going to be really obnoxious to watch, especially with someone like Draymond Green getting to be a part of it.

Yeah its gonna happen anyways so at one year 11 million I'd take the chance and let the bitterness go. I don't know if Bogut would want to go east so if all things are equal GS would probably try to send him somewhere he'd be happy but I'd at least try to get him.
I am pretty curious to see who on GS fills the Love/Bosh role and the Thompson/Battier role and how happy they are especially when things aren't going well. I don't see this signing as a guaranteed dynasty. This could go wrong pretty easily.

This seems overly optimistic for the C's.
3rd? Might as well be 28th. Same shit. Boston has the same chance as the Sixers. Can't wait for the lockout in 2017. The owners in the other markets aren't going to put up with this. The CBA is supposed to protect markets like OKC and they were just decapitated by this deal.
On a different note people are about to find out just how stupid it was that a team relocated to the 40th largest market from Seattle. The fans are great, but they've always had great players. Now that those players are going to be gone with no chance of bringing in top free agents we'll see how dedicated their fans are. Okc is going to be an NBA outpost.

Unless they put in the CBA that if you draft a player you keep them for life or other teams can only offer 50% of what the team with the players rights can offer I don't see what else they can do. If he chose the Bulls you'd be fine with it.

You keep talking about the Warriors like they play in NY. They are in the same market as the Oakland A's.

Nobody chooses the Bulls and if he did choose the bulls people would just view him as stupid instead of a sellout coward who doesn't want to compete.
