I read a review that says the aliens picked up Asia and dropped it on Europe. That can't possibly be true can it?

Pretty much. And the aliens were inches away from drilling a hole to the earth's core. But when they stopped the core was considered "secure" even though there was a hole inches from it.

But that is the absolute least of this movie's problems
