Either way sounds like a bit of a scam. I read somewhere that XL are going to press new copies from Parlophone stampers once the existing stock sell out (which could be quite a while).Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:They are made from old stampers but they are not old pressings. What would you recommend WCT? I'm looking to get Pablo thru to HTTT...

They all sound good and were mastered at the time of the album's original release.ridleybradout wrote:What would you recommend WCT? I'm looking to get Pablo thru to HTTT...
HTTT has "extra" material in the sense of some crossfades not being present to accommodate the side breaks.
Despite being self-proclaimed "non-audiophiles", Radiohead knows exactly what they are doing when it comes to mastering vinyl, unlike a certain other band that carried on and bitched and moaned about how much CD's suck.

Just got home from a week in the Netherlands. I was in Amsterdam yesterday, they have so many record stores! Picked up Dylan bargains!
Planet Waves for 5 euros, Hard Rain for 7 euros, and Infidels for 9 euros!

$50 Newbury Comics giftcard from my 9-month-old daughter
I got a Decemberists record to almost completely round out my collection, the new Radiohead, and a Spoon record which was mislabeled--a run of 500 that's red, I got it for $12.

Picked up 2 Melvins reissues yesterday, Stoner Witch and Houdini. Third Man did a great job with these.

Camelcamelcamel pays off again: I got Metallica's black album for $6 today, which is the perfect price for a bit of adolescent nostalgia.

I got Picaresque. I think now I just need Her Majesty and Hazards of Love (the latter of which I'm not crazy about).durdencommatyler wrote:Which Decemberists did you get and what are you missing?Simple Torture wrote:$50 Newbury Comics giftcard from my 9-month-old daughter![]()

Did you get the record store day colored reissue of Picaresque for last year (or the year before?)?

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
I actually haven't opened it, but I'm pretty sure it's black. Last time we were at the record store, my wife asked about the differences between black and colored vinyl--and when she realized there was no difference besides price, I thought her eyes would roll out of head.durdencommatyler wrote:Simple Torture wrote:I got Picaresque. Yeah, I don't really care about colored vinyl. Sometimes it's fun, but usually I couldn't care less. I just wondered how hard it was to get Picaresque anymore. Didn't know if that RSD pressing was the only one out there on the regular.

Sunny Day Real Estate's "How It Feels to be Something On" is getting a reissue. Fuck yes. Just stumbled across this last night by accident and snagged a Sub Pop Loser Edition. So stoked.

Is DOTU hard to find or does it sound bad? I have a copy on clear vinyl from the first run but have never played it.

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
Nice. I'd say it's fairly rare. It hasn't been pressed since '96, and they are generally pretty expensive. Your clear version looks like it has a median price of almost $90USD on Discogszeb wrote:Is DOTU hard to find or does it sound bad?
