Finally saw The Revenant.
I liked okay. Leo was good & it obviously was a demanding role but was he any better than he was in, say, Gangs of New York or Revolutionary Road? It felt long, especially in the back half. Some great camera work though.

Sort of. The tl;dr version is: the guy who produced WWW was also going to produce Superman Lives and wanted Smith to put a giant spider at the end of it, so when Smith saw WWW he figured the producer finally got his wish.

I've never witnessed anybody having as much fun in the movies as the 70-year-old lady who was sitting next to me in The Nice Guys just now.

Well, it was a disappointment. Its well crafted, its funny, i loved the kid and Gosling but there was something missing....there was no mood. Everything that i love about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang wasnt here, it felt like a pale imitator.

Still, its an ok movie.

Miles Ahead.

Interesting, its not the kind of biopics we are used to see...its not a great movie, but Cheadle really shines here, not only as Davis, but as director and writer too...the guy puts some really great work here...there re some really cool scenes (the boxing scene is pretty cool)
The movie might have its flaws, but i can see its coming from a very nice place, and like i said, its not the mainstream biopic hollywood is used to do.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
