Some quick thoughts on the plot of the premiere/where I think this is going. I'm going to watch again soon and wait to comment on performances/tone/and stuff like that then, now that I've got a clear idea of what's going on (spoilered for now since the first episode hasn't "aired"):
If we had Nas's lawyer's (the Jesus's) perspective right now, things would look pretty bleak: he was read his rights but the interview and collection of evidence went so far before he asked for a lawyer that things are looking pretty bleak. But there have been a few "Hmmmm...." moments that are going to pop up again in the future, where people either made mistakes or outright lied. The big one is the breaking of the chain of evidence when it comes to Nas's clothes and stuff--when his lawyer finds this out, he'll be able to exclude all of that. The next big one, which is smaller, is that Bodie lied about being alone when he saw Nas and the girl head into her place. He was pretty adamant about being by himself, so there's something bigger going on there. The fact that the cops didn't give Nas a breathalyzer could also be significant, as that was another "break in custody" as it were.
Here's something I'm hoping for: I hope the show holds onto the possibility that Nas did commit the crime. We've been conditioned to believe that he's being set up or that there's something else going on--i.e., he's just a regular kid who's out of his element, he made a few mistakes and got mixed up in something, etc.--but the series will be a lot more interesting if they either lean on the possibility that he could be guilty (even if he was so intoxicated that he doesn't remember) or if, in the end, he ends up being the killer. I'm very excited to see how it turns out.
the second dude (with Bodie) seems key. He gave a mean stare like that guy in the desert on Spaceballs who ain't found shit.
The only thing that bothered me was I wanted more of the girl. She kind of looked like if Selena Gomez ever grows out of her 15 year old face. I suppose we might get more of her in flashbacks, but she was great.
I think the fact that we didn't find out much about the girl--Andrea, but the fact that we're referring to her as "the girl" speaks volumes--is totally intentional. From here on out, we're going to learn about who she was from friends and family, and I betcha most of them will paint a portrait that totally clashes with the young woman Naz met; that'll cut into his credibility in the eyes of a jury and just about everyone else.

Of course. Same rules as any other tv show thread.

i thought, with on demand and other replay options, that the common courtesy was to use spoilers for a day or two after the original airing?

You're probably right, so hopefully there's some sort of explanation that can keep that plot point going. I mean, he hasn't got blood all over him and the cops are convinced, right?
One other thing: he took her drugs and that hasn't come up again, has it? Are they in the cab, probably?

Yeah, on Twitter and Facebook and in general threads here maybe where someone might be even if they're trying to avoid spoilers. But if you come into the thread about the show, you should expect to see people talking about what happened on that show.

I think they're in the cab. The knife was on the dashboard before motorcycle guy saw it, or I assume he saw it. They lingered on motorcycle guy for a pretty long time.
