I felt like I was inside a piece of art for 2 1/2 hours.

The sunset, scenery, and first hour of the show literally brought me to tears.

Mr. Mike McCready was the star as the show went on, he was on laser fire.

Angel and Society were pretty special to hear, nice adds I thought to a unique show. Santa Cruz was changed to Telluride, and also fit the mood pretty well.

This was not a hard or fast driving show, it was a flowing sonic contribution to the surroundings. It was an experience I will never forget, and a concert experience that may never be topped for me.

I will tell you from being up the mountains for the first time on this trip, though, that the 10000 feet elevation really fucks with your ability to catch your breath and not get winded. I struggled with it the whole weekend, it even affected my mental sharpness noticeably. (Especially combined with other things....) Eddie made mention of it and I'm sure that impacted the set list and song choices.

Did anyone see a written set list and see what they cut? I would guess they were going to play more but cut it down

 Sounds awesome. I think we are all pretty jealous back here in "big urban arena" land.

It was a surprise for sure, but I thought it sucked too.
Count me in this group as well. Cool that they tried it, but...
I'm going to help you :censored: out with a little math.

The only version of that song which you're familiar with was recorded when Ed was approximately 30 years old. Now he's like 51 or something. It's going to sound different.

The unattractive differences have nothing to do with the aging of his pipes, and everything to do with his choice of phrasing. The time between the studio cut and this one is irrelevant.

I think ED did a decent job... it was the full backing band part that made it sound too much like SBM that takes a away a bit for me. If it had been done Bee Girl style, that would have been cooler.

They stayed true to the setlist from the pic I saw, unless this was created after the fact

I was in the hammock, sleeping under the stars all three nights, but Mrs. Thip was in there... and I do kinda recall some comment from Strat to my wife regarding his male appendage...

It's all kinda fuzzy!

I may be the only fan on earth who has seen/heard Angel live twice...

and I have always championed this song, most likely because I was there for it in 1993...

but it was SO uncomfortable and strange to see it like I did Saturday night. Ed butchered Dave's last name, and this was coming off the heels of Ed abruptly stopping down a song to bitch about the lights. This was the moment that JOLTED me from the unbelievably euphoric high that was the first hour.

They should NOT have played Angel.
