This one could actually be plausible, but it hasn't happened yet: I'd like to see Eric Chenaux, Ryan Driver, and Sandro Perri get together with all three singing and playing various instruments, doing weird, warped versions of songs from their respective back catalogs, and composing new material for the project. They've all got plenty of shared history with previous mutual memberships in various ensembles, as well as Eric and Ryan playing in multiple versions of Sandro's backing band, and also backing each other in their own solo projects.

I got so excited about those rumors of Keeler joking QOTSA. The tour where that rumor started with NIN/QOTSA/DFA1979 was unreal. I missed that lineup by about a week. I got Autolux instead of DFA1979 (womp womp)
