The bright side is, he also thinks it will be the worst movie of 2016.
What an asshole.

It's all good, buddy. I hope it isn't the single worst movie of 2016. And having seen Swiss Army Man, I'm confident that it won't be. But if it is, at least you get to enjoy it on that level with a good friend. I respect that.

There's a pretty solid chance this could be the worst of movie of 2016. I don't know why that seems like such a horrible statement. It's Paul Feig directing Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones. Just typing that makes me want to commit suicide.

Re: Ghostbusters (2016)
I guess, I'll say this....
I have no idea whether or not this movie will be good. But I imagine there's less chance of this being the worst film of all of 2016 than there is of it being the best film of 2016. And I'll dip my balls in your aunt Ethel's soup if this is the best movie of 2016.

Re: Ghostbusters (2016)
But I love how everyone is willing to entertain that this could oh so easily be the worst movie of the year but there's no fucking way it could possibly even be good, let alone the best movie of the year!
Awesome.

Re: Ghostbusters (2016)
The only thing I have to go by in predicting this movie's worth is the one trailer I saw, which was never once funny or compelling. It wasn't a substantially different preview experience from Pixels. It could certainly be a great movie with terrible, terrible marketing. It happens. I almost skipped seeing The Heat because they made it look like absolute garbage in the marketing, and it ended up being a funny little movie.durdencommatyler wrote:But I love how everyone is willing to entertain that this could oh so easily be the worst movie of the year but there's no fucking way it could possibly even be good, let alone the best movie of the year!

Re: Ghostbusters (2016)
This was... fine! It was fine. 6.5/10. Some very funny moments, but also some insufferably Bridesmaids-y jokes. McKinnon and Hemsworth ran away with the whole thing, especially McKinnon. And I can't put into words exactly why I loved her and her character so much. Most surprisingly for me, Leslie Jones wasn't nearly as annoying as the trailers made her out to be. A lot fewer "AW HELL NO" moments than I thought we'd be getting from her. It was cool how they played with the aspect ratio and the 3D.
There was a stretch towards the beginning where I was really hating this thing. Some really Paul Feig-y "bits" that went on for eye-rollingly long. Some really terrible jokes. The constant callbacks to and cameos from the old Ghostbusters movies were bad and unnecessary, except for the one during the credits. The fight during the rock concert reminded me of Vanilla Ice in the second Ninja Turtles movie. The big climactic battle at the end is a big nothing, save for one big moment with McKinnon. The characterization seemed all over the place for all the main characters except the most overtly cartoonish ones (again, Hemsworth and McKinnon). And this has got to be my least-favorite cinematic depiction of New York City. It didn't even look like New York.
Overall, it was fine. I laughed and I groaned. My girlfriend loved it. The crowd was way into it. It's a kid-friendly movie. It was fine. It was FINE.

Lol. Totally forgot about that Vanilla Ice thing.
So, it seems like this was more of a slapstick comedy update of the movie. I love the original ghostbusters because of the dry sense of humor. The humor feels inherent rather than forced. Am i wrong?
