This was great--visuals, pacing, dialogue, characters.

The Miranda Rights threw me off as we saw pretty much every other detail of the arrest, including the broken chain of evidence, that I wonder what bits will be shown, implied or left out.

Just spitballing here as I rewatch the premiere:

-Could the hearse driver have killed her? He seems pretty enigmatic and he does get right into his car as they drive off; he could've followed them (I know this is a crackpot idea).
-I wonder if Steve Cirbus will return (he's the actor playing the cop who scares those kids out the back of the cab). He was great on Delocated. But seriously, anyone Naz came into contact with could come back to bite him / help him.
-Second time through, it's much clearer to me that Naz is just a normal guy. He's a little awkwad but he's not painted as a loser or loner or anything, which makes him a more interesting character to me.

-So what's the girl's deal? Why can't she "be alone"? That's an important question we'll have to get the answer to soon. I think Naz's reaction almost makes it seem like she's got "daddy issues," but that could be him misreading her. Maybe she just got out of another relationship? (There's another suspect for you if that's the case.)
-Yeah, the stare from Bodie's friend really seems ominous. But the look the hearae driver gives them is just as piercing so I don't know what to believe anymore.
-We're going to find out soon how a woman as young as her can afford to live in a place like that. Comes from money?

Ok, so I know it's a crackpot idea, but: if you were a serial killer who also drove a hearse, wouldn't, "You're going to be my next passenger," be the perfect thing to say to your victims?

That's a possibility. But she's also into drugs and playing knife games so it's also a possibility that she's got mental health issues and her state of mind that night wasn't the result of a specific thing happening.

Also very possible. The knife scene is basically the greatest meet cute of all time.

--Hmmmmm I'm not so sure I believe her when she answers Naz's question about if that was her place. I think there's more to it.
--Cat allergies...I feel you, Naz.
--I'm a big fan of the fact that Naz is obviously high as fuck and in a state he's never been in before but that we don't get a POV shot that's all blurry and trippy and stuff; the camera remains sober and we've just got to sort of infer his POV from what he says ("Am I really here?") and how he acts. I like that a lot, it's not as cheap as adding blur effects.

I get that Naz should have blood all over himself if he got all stabby-stabby, but I'm more interested in the blood on the elk. That didn't get there when they were going up the stairs, right?

assuming we have been introduced to the murderer in the first episode I feel like the Hearse driver and the "bad look" guy would be the two likely options.

I didn't get a good vibe from the next door neighbor (the main witness). Though it would have tough for him to have pulled it off

It's also curious that Naz would have been able to have completely avoided such a heinous murder if he was there.

Excited to see how this all plays out

I think my comment about being high/drunk above speaks to this a bit: since we didn't get to see his state of mind from his point of view, we had to infer how out of it he was. There's certainly a chance that he just doesn't remember, or that he was passed out in the kitchen when someone else came in and offed her.

My mom just watched this on my recommendation says the gate didn't shut after she let the cat out. I didn't notice so not sure if true or not.

I checked it out, and she definitely didn't latch it--but there's no indication that it was latched when she went out there. Either way, I think this is a good catch! Can you give me your mom's Twitter name so I can congratulate her?

fair enough. I imagine he will begin to remember some things about the night as the show goes on.
But that seems very ideal for the murderer and almost a little too easy for a story line to just say "he went down to get some water and passed out at the table"

The more I think about it, the more I think the hearse driver was probably just pissed that she threw a lit fucking cigarette at him while he was pumping gas.

How great is the last show where Naz's dad goes out in his pajamas with no shoes on and the cab isn't there?
