Finally out, while I'm not sure if I will like it as much as their 2013 album, I'm really loving this.

Really digging the new Car Seat Headrest album. It's like a mixture of everything 90s indie rock and the Matador label. The below song is leading contender for song of the year.

I wasn't a big fan of the last record, but I'm digging this song.

I'm of the opposite mind -- I thought the last record was lovely and haunting (in places anyway), but this and "Intern" just feel like middle of the road junk to me.

Her lyrics are Chris Martin bad.

I've only taken it for one spin but I enjoyed it.

The Carseat album is okay. Nothing groundbreaking but its not horrid.

I was digging the hell out of this one today at work.

Spenno - read this review and thought of you.

The Still - The Still
Stealthy doom jazz from The Neck's pianist.
Time moves slowly in the world of The Necks, and Australian trio whose hour-long improvisations became more revered as the years pass. In the three decades since they formed, however, the members have never shied away from other freeform musical outlets, not least pianist Chris Abrahams. Abrahams' first appearance in your record collection may have been as an auxiliary member of The Triffids. Now, he specialises in grand keyboard meditations, also anchoring this Berlin-based quartet. The Still are more linear than The Necks, with Rico Repotente's guitar adding tremor and friction to the likes of "The Early Bird". Think of them as a midpoint between The Necks and another German-based jazz unit, Bohren & Der Club of Gore.

I haven't yet listened, but am planning on grabbing this soon.

If Reignwolf ever releases his album then I feel like it'll be album of the year. The live videos I've seen on youtube are just FIRE.

New Eluvium album out on September 2, called False Readings On. Here's "Fugue State" from it:

Sounds like he's putting to use some of the techniques used in his Inventions project, like the almost rhythmic synth arpeggios and sampled and distorted operatic vocals.

You're welcome! Glad to see more positive response to this album. Shalabi's got a new solo album coming out some time soon, called Isis and Osiris, but it's going to be much more abstract than this stuff.
