Have a question/thought lads.

The debates are ahead right?

I watched hillarys speech this morning and it was great. But in a debate situation, I can see two things happening. Trump is going to spend his 2 minutes on whatever the topic, answering the question for about 20 seconds and attacking her for the remainder of the time.

But as she said; he is very easily rattled. And on top of that he hasnt yet rolled off any stats about economy jobs unemployment growth health, none of it. He isn't prepared or educated about any of that stuff.


So I can see him just on the attack all night unable to answer.

So my question is, will that still win over on his supporters? Will the moderator allow him do it? And what's the likely outcome?

Trump's supporters will eat up Donald in attack mode. It won't turn them off when he gets caught with his pants down on policy. I have a hard time figuring out how he wins over anyone who is undecided though.

I think Clinton will be prepared for the ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK strategy because that's how Mitt Romney came out against Obama during their first debate in 2012. No one was expecting it, and Obama--for one of the first times that I remember--was taken aback and wasn't able to defend himself in a coherent way. There was a big blip in the polling after that, probably one of the only times when Romney really looked like he was going to win. Obama's handlers prepped him for the next few debates and they went fine; I'm sure Clinton's team will have all sorts of prepared lines to deal with attacks about her e-mails, Benghazi, etc.

trump needs to hammer the email server and 'clinton cash' aspects to have any shot. he has to push her untrustworthiness, unlawfulness, wall street connections, and history of trading access/info/etc for clinton foundation contributions.

i wouldn't think that it would be that hard of a sell since this stuff is pretty obvious.. but do i think he can articulate these things in a convincing way without sounding like too much of a crazy person? and in a manner that can sway people on the fence? with that shrew working him up in a debate setting?

That's un-American. Skepticism and cynicism are our replacements for informed decision, because informed decision is way too hard and cynicism is deliciously cheap.

Yet, the more information that one seeks and finds about politics, the more cynical one becomes.

Cool thanks. It's all won or lost on the debates I reckon. He can shout her down and do the scare thing but when he isnt able to appear in any way emphatic or even aware of the plight of those being left behind and instead just goes me me me I will fix this, without backing it up with facts, he will be in big trouble.

I'd love her to ask him, Donald when was the last time you walked down an American street?

He walks from lobby to limo all the time. He doesn't leave trump tower #001 and walk down the street for a coffee or hotdog. She should use the fact that he lives totally in an enclosed unreal environment, that the vast majority of people have never experienced.

The election will probably be won and lost based on how Americans feel the economy is doing in October. Not how it's actually doing, but how they feel it's going.
