TRUMP2016
you make a compelling argument for Trump. Can we get Star Wars classified as a foreign film?
T

It sort of is a foreign film. Made in the uk and Ireland. And it a Disney subsidiary making it. Registered as Fooldy films in the UK. Least they're the ones being charged for Harrison fords accident.

In all the Democratic convention speeches seeking to “humanize” Hillary Clinton, something went curiously missing: her work with the family charity.

You’d think Hillary, Bill and Chelsea would want to use the national stage to tout how their family’s $2 billion foundation is “helping improve the lives of millions of people across the world,” as it boasts.

You’d think we would’ve heard from some of the beneficiaries of the “partnerships between businesses, NGOs, governments and individuals” finding “solutions that last.”

But not a word that we can recall. No speeches, no videos, no personal testimonials — nothing.

Presumably because Republicans are working hard to make the foundation a focus of the election cycle, and there's no reason for Clinton to help them do that.

Step one: an all republican committee forwards a request to the IRS
Step two: the IRS, following normal operating procedure, announces that it has forwarded the request to the relevant department for review
Step three: every conservative news outlet splashes this under the headline IRS TO INVESTIGATE CLINTON FOUNDATION PAY TO PLAY SCAM
Step four: when the request has been formally reviewed, and the IRS determines that it's not of any worth, conservative commenters will spend weeks discussing this sign that even the IRS is in the Clinton's pocket. Millions of Americans, well trained now to accept any sign of politician corruption, will incorporate this into their knowledge base of the Clinton's.

Every step along the way it's another opportunity. There is no way for them to not gain ground with this. If she mentions the foundation in a speech, then they can be indignant about how she would be bragging about her organization while it's "under investigation." If she says nothing, they can go "ooh, look what was missing! Isn't that interesting...."

Pretty standard strategy, really. They need to get the story away from their ongoing catastrophe, and this is salvo number one.

Ive said fo m the beginning I think Trump is running a fake campaign. Now it's gone into really dangerous territory.

My pal max-Trump's strategy appears to be to start as many fires as possibly creating theatrical distractions so that the attention of American voters - the most notoriously misinformed electorate in the developed world - is perpetually deflected away from all of his weaknesses.

Problem for him is that he is alienating of those who do have a clue about the world, and even die-hard Republicans are publicly turning on him - including the deep-red Houston Chronicle in deep-red Texas.

Hedge-Fund Money: $48.5 Million for Hillary Clinton, $19,000 for Donald Trump

Political donations from people at hedge funds have vaulted this election, and far more has gone to the Democratic nominee than to the Republican
