'DC suffers from a 14 year olds idea of maturity' was the fairest view I've seen on DCs 'adult' output. The outlets that like comic book movies, like Collider, are trying to figure out ways to be honest about how bad it is without saying it outright. 'It's a hot mess but it's a lot of fun' said one of them.

Ghostbusters effect already happen in on this in reverse.

I just tried reading that Faraci review and the little I could stomach was just worthless, pedestrian dreck. How could anybody enjoy reading shit like that?

Damn. So basically two different versions of this movie exist. I wonder if Ayer's version will come to light soon. It sounds a lot more interesting and is probably more cohesive.

That sounds like the bullshit a studio puts out to cover for making a terrible film.

This makes them look worse.

Man alive. Say what you will about Star Wars, but it really feels like disney has a handle on what the product is and how to deliver the goods.

I dont buy that its the publics fault. It feels more like studio execs not understanding what makes good films, what stories are worth telling, and trying to push a product rather than a good film. Attempting 10 DC films in 5 years is pretty crazy and feels more like PRAMG than Kanye's output. Know what i mean?

Not in Hollywood, no. This is why true independent film making is so important.

Well, no, since they did it right at first. Hiring real filmmakers and letting them make real films. I think Man of Steel and BVS are both masterworks. And David Ayer and James Wan were also great hires. But then people were dumb and BVS didn't do what they wanted, so WB caved and here we are.

Yep. That was my thought as well. It's more of DC freaking out and not trusting their filmmakers. Just my limited opinion though.

They just can't get out of their own way.

But they only stopped trusting them after the BVS backlash.

Yeah not debating that. Still their dumb fault for freaking out after that.

Having finally watched BvS, I feel like the difference between Marvel and DC movies so far is that Marvel movies are their own universe (literally as it has it's own number even - Earth-199999) but the DC ones want you to have some familiarity with the comics even as they shit on them. e.g.: that weird demon thing (who?) with Lex and Jimmy Olson being a CIA op (what?)

WB/DC just needs to get out of it's own way and make movies.
