It was the first and only movie I've ever walked out on.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

BFD.

They're doing the same with Splash. And no one seems to give a shit. Which is a shame because Splash is a goddamn great movie.

As long as this all leads to more minorities and women being given great roles, it'll be worth it. Hopefully, they reboot/remake stuff will stop and they can just make great new original films with minority stars. That's where I hope this is all going.

Clearly, making soulless remakes and calling anyone who doesn't like it a sexist is not the way to accomplish those goals. It's more likely detrimental.

The Redletter guys had a good video on it. It was not kind.

While i thought it was underwhelming, the scene where they are interviewing Hemsworth for the job had me absolutely rolling with laughter. He nailed that scene.

Which is exactly why I don't do that, Burt.

Oh I know. But the marketing behind this was pretty sinister.

Huh. I guess I didn't experience the much of the marketing behind this. I don't recall anything I'd call sinister.

I hope you have a good time. It's not a life changing movie. But it's funny. And I really enjoyed it.

It's my wife's birthday. She really wanted to see it and I'm curious. And then we're going to some awesome restaurant owned by a top chef winner. Without kids. Should be a solid afternoon
