I'll be pissed if this doesn't end up being true, but maybe they do a Mansfield style pre show, full band accoustic, or just ed for a few songs. dunnoSimple Torture wrote:I trust you, coach. I've spread this around to my circle of friends as well. There will be a lot of pissed off people, though, if they start at 6:30 without official word from the 10C (as 10-Clubby as that scenario sounds).

I'm glad being on RM for like 10 years finally paid off

I was at Mansfield in '03 when they did the famous accoustic preset and there was a decent sized crowd but they had officially announced it prior to the show.Captain Termite wrote:With security lines (presumably) and it being a Friday (versus Sunday), they will be playing to only a half-full house if they start a song right at 6:30....
I trust the sources and their info, but I'd still guess that the first song is closer to 7:00.

I didn't ask and I don't want to send this person more texts to become a pain in the ass, but I imagine that what happens on Friday will happen Sunday. Just a guess though.numbers wrote:Any word on if this applies to Sunday as well?

That pre set was fantastic. And it still holds up. One of the few boots I still go back to.Coach wrote:Yup I think we have chatted about this before.cutuphalfdead wrote:I was there too, man. I didn't go in for the pre-set and then unexpectedly was the driver on the way home because my friend was too drunk, and his brakes sucked so I promptly got in a fender-bender on the 495 on-ramp.

This guy is the CEO of a major Sox sponsor, so there might be some weight to it (unless he just heard the same rumor as the rest of us):

My favorite part about Mansfield was actually being able to see them play in daylight without all the lights. Made it feel more authentic for some reason. Same will happen tonight, but Ed's voice won't touch that '03 set.

What a douche for saying "you're welcome." Yup, he's probably hearing it from his account exec at NESN, but my source works directly for Sox. I just had another friend text me confirming this, he's close to someone at the Sox, too.Simple Torture wrote:This guy is the CEO of a major Sox sponsor, so there might be some weight to it (unless he just heard the same rumor as the rest of us):

Everyone was talking about the announcement outside of MSG before the second MSG show that year, 2 days beforeSimple Torture wrote:Didn't they announce it really late?
