Finsished this last night.

It was fun. On the balance I enjoyed the experience. Some great moments but it's super flawed, for sure. I'll definitely check out S2. That third episode is the only episode that I would call fantastic. The other seven are meh to good. I don't recall any episodes that I disliked from beginning to end.

Winona Ryder is so bad. Literally her only good scene, LITERALLY THE ONLY SCENE where's she's a competent actress is her final scene. They had her at 110 mph from frame one and never gave her anywhere to go. It's a shame because I know she's more than able to do better.

But the actress playing Eleven deserves them. She fucking owns this thing. God, she's so good.

I did really love the juxtaposition of worldviews between the kids and the adults. The adults talking about Russia and trusting their government and the cold war and the kids seeing everything through the prisim of movies, specifically Star Wars: "Lando!"

It was so neat. Yeah, this show was a lot of fun.

Yeah, it was way less manipulative and "LOOK GUYS THE 800000000000000000S!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T YOU LOVE THE 80S!!!?!!!" than I expected.

Sometimes it crossed the line into that, but mostly it felt alright. mostly.

I loved this, and thought Ryder was fine. Excellent child actors across the board and it was one of the most authentic period pieces I've ever seen. This felt like the early 80s without ever drawing attention to it

This was good pulpy fun. I'm sure the creators were going for a very broad audience, but I have a feeling this will be extremely popular with teenagers.

Guys, I liked the soundtrack well enough as I watched the thing. But I have zero interest in listening to this outside of the show.
