It's less than one GB. It should download really quickly.

I'm debating asking a friend that works at wal mart if I can pick it up around midnight tonight, but I still won't be able to play it until late tomorrow

No reviews are out. Most critics just got the game today or over the weekend. I'd look for them later this week.

i feel like the hype died down when it got pushed back almost a year. the concept still seems novel to me, but i like the idea of existing in a world where i dont have to interact with others, but can affect each other's experiences

Not unless you have a kickass laptop, I would think. A quick look shows the GPU they recommend is like $500.
