My PJ show routine -

Limited beer drinking prior to show outside venue
Pee before going into venue
Pee right before show starts, usually an hour after the start time on my ticket
Buy two beers
About an hour in, pick a song to go pee. Worst case, pee during Porch main set closer.
Ingest as much Marijuana as possible during 1st encore break
Strongly consider leaving during RITFW or YL to beat the crowd
Ingest as much Marijuana and beer as soon as possible after leaving

Peeing at Fenway is always fun, because they have the trough-style urinals for men, in which many dongs pee into the same receptacle.

Is this unusual? This is the case in most public bathrooms here.

Pearl Jam shows are pretty long, I can definitely appreciate why you'd need to go at some point.

In older arena and stadium venues, it is very common. Newer ones have individual urinals. Port-a-pots at outdoor venues that aren't stadiums.

If you take a leak before the show, you should be fine for 3.5 hours, even if you are drinking.

I've learned to purposely avoid drinking anything for an hour or two before I go to a movie or concert. And, yes, I always go right before it starts.
