Which conspiracy theories are actually believable?
Just read the one about David Stern and the Knicks for the first time. I love the internet.

Re: Which conspiracy theories are actually believable?
nah meaning its not believable? i really havent looked into it but it seems pretty interesting to think about, and i know that it has really happened, so if it was faked the first time then whytheplatypus wrote:Nah.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:fake moon landing possibly, i still need to watch the documentary on it

It is interesting to think about, but I think it gets tossed out very quickly once you actually start reading about it.

My dad worked in satellites/surveillance in the Air Force for a number of years before retiring. He believed there was something "alien" at Area 51. He was not a conspiracy theory kind of guy and I don't think he would believe something like that without having some kind of "proof" in his mind. I pressed him a number of times and he would not elaborate.

Sticking with the NBA, I'm sure Game 6 of the 2002 WC Finals was fixed. Maybe not by the league, but there had to be dirty refs in that game.zeb wrote:Just read the one about David Stern and the Knicks for the first time. I love the internet.

Re: Which conspiracy theories are actually believable?
This topic seems to have horizons of believability. On one side, it's incredibly hard to believe that absolutely nothing is known. On the other, the greater the information set or event being discussed becomes, the less believable it is that nothing has ever been leaked.warehouse wrote:i can get behind this oneturned2black wrote:My dad worked in satellites/surveillance in the Air Force for a number of years before retiring. Shady stuff still involving the government?BurtReynolds wrote:i dont think there is anything alien at Area 51. There are probably far worse things there, though.
I dont think the government planned or executed 9-11, but there is some shady shit going on there. There is probably a nugget of truth in many of these theories.

Re: Which conspiracy theories are actually believable?
I think certain people in this country knew 9/11 (or at least something) was going to happen and let it happen - maybe even helped it along.

Re: Which conspiracy theories are actually believable?
well, like tommymctom said, i think most people feel like people knew something about it and didnt stop it, so that part maybe not. but i didnt know if you were meaning the stuff like people saying that the buildings were brought down with remote triggered detonations, and stuff like that.BurtReynolds wrote:At this point is it even considered a conspiracy theory?Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Shady stuff still involving the government?BurtReynolds wrote:i dont think there is anything alien at Area 51. Neil Conan shut down a 'truther' on the last program of Talk of the Nation. It was rather humorous.
