Yeah, I believe it was the 2" multitrack tapes they got back (hence the new mix), it's the stereo mixdown tape that's apparently lost.

So basically they have the stems and the new mix - regardless of anything - will be truly new because they don't have the old mix to use. Is that the gist of it?

Neither of those mixes give any impression of having been manned by a professional.
