Great story.

Apparently Kenny loved smokin weed. And would be hot boxing inside R2 while they were filming. And more than a few scenes had to be done again cos smoke leaking out could be seen on camera.

I've read interviews where he said he was never involved with any scenes where R2 had to move (I assume 'roll'), and that he didn't have a lot of scenes with the principal cast ("I barely met them"). But the dome movements and light flashes are not recognizably different for those rolly scenes...so did he do those when he was in the robot, but not otherwise? Or was there a remote controller offscreen?

I've never been clear what he actually did, other than prove that Anthony Daniels is a complete scrote.
