I respect your opinions in this area brah, but It's one of the worst executed good concepts I've ever seen. I disliked it quite a bit.The Argonaut wrote:i loved lobster movie

It felt like a Black Mirror episode that had been scrapped for being too in your face obvious in its criticism of moderninity.durdencommatyler wrote:You're all a bunch of cinematic idiots.

I loved everything about it. I don't really watch Black Mirror, though. Maybe if I was more familiar with it (only seen two episodes) I'd understand that criticism.Bi_3 wrote:It felt like a Black Mirror episode that had been scrapped for being too in your face obvious in its criticism of moderninity.durdencommatyler wrote:You're all a bunch of cinematic idiots.
I guess I also didn't look at it as a critcism of moderninity, necessarily. There's certainly a lot that's on the nose about it, but as a satire, I think that's totally fine. It was all about the performances, the concept, and the visuals. I was emotionally invested from the first frame to the last. It was magical and strange and off kilter and I just wanted it to be 12 hours longer.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
It got me thinking about how amazing it would be if the Harry Potter movies had been made in the '80s. Now I don't know if I can ever watch them again because I'll just be thinking about how much better the '80s versions would have been.
