My guess is that after that revelation, some pretty big things are coming with Episode 8.

Different dialogue.
We hear that the rebellion have intercepted an encrypted message about a weapons test.

We hear the message is from Jyns father.

This raises the stakes and is a reason for her to become involved. Her father may be being held against his will. Given Mickkelsons description of his character being like Oppenheimer and has created something beautiful but it has been warped by the empire into something terrifying, it gives her a motivation to get involved and maybe try rescue him or at least steal the plans in order to destroy it.

I saw Star Trek Beyond in the theater yesterday and they showed the first Rogue One trailer before it. So badass to see some R1 on the big screen. I was all tingly. Anyway, I hadn't seen that first trailer in a long time. Saw Gerrera looks really different in that trailer than he does in the new one.

Image
Trailer one on the left; trailer two on the right.

Do we think that's a plot point? A product of reshoots? Will there be continuity issues? Someone told me it's pretty easy to tell what was reshot in Suicide Squad because of hair length and facial hair fluxing in the movie. Will this be similar? Or did they reshoot all of his stuff? Or is it part of the movie?

GUYS I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS

To be fair, I'd totally go see Saw Gerrera do a set at the Comedy Cellar.
